Prepare:
- Plan your driving and walking route into and through Downtown ahead of time.
- Use interstates to travel to and leave Downtown.
- Enter Downtown from the side on which you plan to park.
- Allow plenty of extra travel time to Downtown.
- Be aware that travel through Downtown will be limited to streets away from the core area.
- Relax during peak exit times.
- Wear comfortable shoes, park once and enjoy the walk.
- Carpool or use IndyGo if possible.
Park:
- Downtown parking is abundant. There are more than 70,000 parking spaces Downtown.
- Log onto www.indydt.com for Downtown maps with attraction and parking information. Print out the map and bring it with you.
- Select a couple of parking alternatives before you leave home.
- Plan to use a garage or lot. Most meters near the event sites are restricted during this time.
- Some parking facilities and lots may not be open to the public.
- Parking garages operating 24 hours will provide more than 13,000 parking spaces during this timeframe. Garages include:

The Indianapolis Tennis Championships kick off on July 12 and continue through July 20 at
the Indianapolis Tennis Center on the IUPUI campus. The Indianapolis Indians will take on
the Toledo Mud Huns at Victory Field July 10 – 13. The Indiana Fever will heat up the court against the Chicago Sky on July 12 and Seattle Storm on July 18 at Conseco Fieldhouse. Tip off is at 7 p.m. Don’t miss a minute of the action!
Sounds of Summer
The Madame Walker Theatre Center presents Indiana Avenue Blues BBQ Family Reunion Festival on July 11 from noon to midnight. The festival will feature the delights of Indianapolis-based Bar-B-Q Heaven and C&R Catering, who will provide a variety of southern deep-fried fish. Headliner Michael Burks and other performers will take to the stage. Children’s activities will take place in the Walker Plaza Parking Lot. Admission is free.
The Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra will perform Simply Sinatra at Hilbert Circle Theatre at 8 p.m. on July 11 and 12 and Heroes and Victors at 8 p.m. on July 18 and 19. The Lawn at White River State Park will be busy as Umphrey’s McGee and STS9 take the stage on July 21 at 7 p.m. The Indianapolis Zoo presents Animals and All That Jazz on July 17. While at the Zoo, check out their newest exhibit- Koalas! The Indiana History Center will host Concerts on the Canal on July 10 and 17. Easley Winery presents Groovin’ in the Garden July 12, 15 and 19.
Movie night
The IMAX Theatre, located inside the Indiana State Museum, presents The Alps and Lions 3D. The Indianapolis Museum of Art will show The Rocky Horror Picture Show on July 11 and The Mummy on July 18. Also, the Indianapolis Marion-County Public Library will feature National Treasure Book of Secrets on July 12 Nancy Drew on July 16
On the Stage
The American Cabaret Theatre is showing The Wiz starting July 18. The Phoenix Theatre presents Some Men now through July 29. Dance Kaleidoscope presents a first-time summer performance of I Got Gershwin, July 10 - 13 at Indiana Repertory Theatre with all tickets specially priced at just $10 each.
